Today, most institutions of higher education in Sweden use web-based instruction environments, or 'learning platforms', that give students access to courses via an ordinary web browser. Uppsala University uses the Swedish learning platform Ping Pong.
Ping Pong is available for all university employees to use free of charge, and the existing functions may be used in teaching, research and administration.
Ping Pong is used, among other things, for:
- Distance teaching
- Distance supervision
Ping Pong's functions
Using Ping Pong you can create and publish web pages, distribute documents and communicate with students. Here are a few examples of functions in Ping Pong:
- Hand-in assignments (with plagiarism check)
- Group/project work room
- Course evaluations and tests
- Student follow-up
- Podcasting
